Midwinter is led by a highly experienced leadership team with a track record of integrity and success in the financial planning software industry – our software consistently tops industry satisfaction awards. Our executive team is made up of our three founding directors, our general manager of distribution, and senior staff members from various divisions within our company – all who have extensive experience in the Fintech space.

Julian Plummer

Julian Plummer

Managing Director

The primary focus of Julian's role is to develop, implement and drive the growth of Midwinter's financial planning software across Australia. This includes showcasing our value proposition to licensees, practices, trustees and planners, and working with them to accelerate the growth of their businesses.

Julian has held a number of management positions within the financial advice industry including Head of Quantitative Research for CBA and Financial Wisdom, and has worked with some of largest multi-manager and superannuation funds in Australia while an asset consultant at Intech Financial Services.

Julian has a Bachelor of Economics (Hons.) and has completed the Chartered Financial Analyst course.

Andrew McClelland

Andrew McClelland

Executive Director - Financial Planning

Andrew heads up the financial planning technology area of Midwinter. He is responsible for ensuring a smooth financial advice process through effective utilisation of Midwinter’s software. Andrew is responsible for adviser training & development, as well as maintaining our programming base and code development. Andrew draws on his financial planning and technology skills base to enable Midwinter client’s to easily implement complex financial planning and strategies.

Andrew has over ten years experience in the Australian Financial Services industry, including roles as a financial planner and a technology analyst at CBA/Financial Wisdom. In his capacity as Financial Planning Manager WA/SA at AXA, Andrew worked closely with planners to implement practical technology solutions.

Andrew has a Bachelor of Economics, Diploma of Financial Planning and Certificates in Financial Analysis (UTS).

James Murphy

James Murphy

Executive Director

James is responsible for managing Midwinter’s research and compliance processes. This includes managing platform and fund relationships, controlling Midwinter’s data audit processes and ensuring our software satisfies ASIC’s regulatory requirements as well as our client’s stringent compliance needs. James has over eleven years experience in the financial services industry with extensive experience in risk management. Before joining Midwinter, James was a Regulatory Analyst with Merrill Lynch in London and prior to that Manager of Risk Management Services at Rabobank in Sydney.

James has a Bachelor of Economics (Hons.) , a Diploma of Financial Planning and has completed Level I of the CFA course.

Jeff Hall

Jeff Hall

CEO

Jeff has 20 years’ experience in financial services IT and business advisory roles.

Prior to Midwinter, Jeff has held roles as;

  • Director at EY consulting with the Technology Performance Improvement Wealth and Asset Management division,
  • Macquarie Bank as Head of Professional Services for COIN financial planning software implementations, business consulting services and product development for large financial institutions
  • Accenture IT and business consulting

Esther Moseley

Esther Moseley

Head of Digital Advice and Implementation - Enterprise

Esther joined Midwinter in November 2015. Her role within Midwinter is to understand the business goals of purpose of our key clients in order to enable tailored solutions to be implemented for greatest value and efficiency.

Esther's career within financial services spans 15 years, with several key positions at technology firms such as Coin and Decimal.

Peter Panigiris

Peter Panigiris

Business Development Manager

Peter joined Midwinter in April 2019, as a Business Development Manager. In his role, Peter is focused on expanding Midwinter’s IFA base, and looking to help Adviser’s and Dealer Groups get the best out of their Advice software.

Throughout his career, Peter has a wealth of experience in the financial advice industry. Having begun his career as a paraplanner, Peter moved onto EY, where he specialised in improving the customer experience of Wealth Management and Financial Advice clientele.

Salvador Saiz

Head of Institutional Growth

Salvador joined Midwinter in November 2016 as a SME and superannuation fund growth consultant, as we widen our reach within the Superannuation space.

Salvador's career in financial services spans 20 years in research, SME consulting and distribution positions, joins the Midwinter team with a wealth of experience with the superannuation and wealth management space and has managed a range of financial advice, retirement solutions and member engagement projects.

Pratik Patel

Pratik Patel

Head of Advice Operations

Pratik manages the implementation of advice through AdviceOS, including templates and other customised settings used by each licensee.

Pratik has over 12 years’ experience in the industry and has been working with Midwinter for the last 7 years. In addition to managing the Instant Advice team, Pratik maintains the Midwinter servers, Insurance database and the automatic software updating process.
